Predictable Schedule:
Maintain a structured schedule with a 1:4 call rotation, requiring 8 hours of on-site hospital coverage and 16 hours of unrestricted call (7 am - 7 am). This role includes nights and weekends.
Seamless Technology:
Leverage your familiarity with EPIC, the electronic medical records system used at the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive inpatient consultations and provide ongoing care for patients with a variety of GI conditions.
- Offer timely support to the emergency department for patients presenting with GI emergencies.
- Perform scheduled GI procedures such as colonoscopies and endoscopic ultrasounds (EUS), ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the EPIC EMR system.
Qualifications for Success:
- Current board certification in Gastroenterology is mandatory.
- Valid and active medical license in the state of Michigan is required.
- Clean background check is essential.
- Experience performing colonoscopies, endoscopic ultrasounds (EUS), and upper GI endoscopies (diagnostic, therapeutic with biopsy, and foreign body removal) is necessary.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with hospital staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
